Wooded hill right above the city center – groves of pines, chapels, a small zoo, and a panoramic view of the islands of Brač, Šolta, and Hvar. Locals run and picnic here every morning. A hidden garden that most tourists miss because it’s free.
Pazar City Market – the morning ritual
A lively open market just behind the Golden Gate of the palace, where they sell homemade cheeses, figs, lavender, dried fish, and vegetables from 6:00 AM. Locals have been shopping here daily for ages. The most beautiful and most authentic morning shot from Split – and it's free.
Salona – Roman ruins near Split
Extensive ruins of the ancient city of Salona (today Solin), the birthplace of Emperor Diocletian – 4 km from the center of Split. An amphitheater, basilicas, and a necropolis from the 1st to the 5th century AD, largely unexplored. Almost no tourists, immense historical value.
